Luxman L-509X vs Luxman L-509Z

Has anyone yet compared the these two Luxman L-509X vs Luxman L-509Z ? I'm thinking of getting the 509Z but also have an option to get an 509X. Not sure what to get :)

Well he was the first to get cancelled so a lot of his stuff isn't available anymore, but when he was on YouTube it was a wild ride to be sure.  I would laugh really hard whenever he would go on a rant.  About the Luxman, I've been reading reviews of the M900U versus the M10X.   Seems there is a big jump from the 900u to the M10X and I would imagine the 590Z would be similar.  Haven't heard either so I can't help, but I'm jealous that you are in the market for these and I would jump on the latest and greatest and never have a single regret!

Yeah I saw those reviews too and that's what I'm also thinking with the Luxman, their stuff is always good right, so I'm looking at the latest. I heard the 507z and 509x and I liked them both but I think 509x was better. Then again the 509 is their top of the line vs 507 being mid-level.

So there are a couple of reviews between the 507Z and the 509X.  In the X series, they said the sound signature for the 507X and 509X are identical, except there is just 'more' with the 509X.  Luxman updated their circuitry for the Z series and some people are calling it a 'major' step 'forward.'  I think that is one way to view it, because the reviews for the 507Z show it to be tipped up and more forward than what Luxman has ever been known for.  If the past is any indication, the 509Z will be more of this new sound which is more forward and exciting.  Personally, Luxman to me is about refinement.  The whole 'Z' series sound isn't for me, but somebody like Jay from Jay's audio lab would most definitely like it because he likes his music loud and in your face.  Therefore, I've purchased the 509X and have been enjoying for the last couple of days and getting to know it.  Just wanted to follow up on this thread with you and let you know why I made the decision I made.

I have the same view on the 509X vs. 509Z. Good to hear that it's turned out great for you since getting the X. And thanks for the thread update, it always great when someone follows up late on.
