Rockna Wavedream NET - Music Server, Streamer and CD Transport

Like most music servers, including this one, the internal drive at 4TB max is about a quarter of my current library on a DIY music Server. If a NAS is considered or external drive, it's another box in the playback chain, creating more noise.

A NAS wouldn't create more noise unless it were connected directly to your chain, but the entire point of a NAS is that you can put it somewhere else.

Whenever I used the NAS just for storage of music files, the sound wasn't the best, was gritty the best explanation. Operationally, NAS use detracted from playing music and became a chore, such as backups, providing a UPS, frequent updates, very long boot up times. No thanks, done with it.

I've got one unit for sale at cheap price.

The Wavelight Server might be interesting since less expensive but it seems not to be launched yet.
