Hi Marcin,

I also tested the new Saved For Later area, here the 1-Column (Portrait Mode) and 2-Column Bug (Landscape Mode) also exist, please see screenshots.

Again I can reproduce easily, by going out of JPlay to any other app or desktop and then back again. I’m still using an iPad Pro (11-inch) (4th generation), with iPadOS 18.0 (22A3354).

All the best, Easterman

Hi @Marcin_gps, just a short note to say that I switched to the lifetime license and canceled my yearly subscription with Apple. This comes with all the best wishes to you and the entire community. I trust you keep up the great work with JPlay for iOS and your devotion to your customers.

Cheers!

Thank you, much appreciated! :)

@Easterman Thank you for the information. We will investigate further.

Best regards,
Marcin

Hi Marcin,

Now that you are bug hunting, there is another little one.

When you are anywhere and click on the Album Cover Thumbnail in the Playing Now bar at the bottom, you are brought to the Album View.

Click again on the Album Cover Thumbnail in the Playing Now Bar, and yet another Album View opens on top of the one already open - I can add these Album Views as many times as I want, However - I now will have to click on the Back Arrow in the Upper Left of the Screen the same number of times as I clicked on the Album Thumbnail.

It seems you do not check if an AlbumView already exists, but open a new one on top regardless.

It also works this way on my iPhone 13 with iOS 17, multiple Album Views are stacked on top.

The best regards

JPLAY 1.0.21 is now available

What's New:

Save for Later: You can now bookmark albums and songs that catch your interest while browsing the library without adding them to your favorites. Items saved for later will be accessible in the new "Saved for Later" section in the menu. Access this feature through the context menu by tapping the three dots (...) next to any item you'd like to save for later.

I love this feature. So cool. It’s perfect for how I discover music.

Thanks
Marcin - I can see that being very useful.

I've mentioned this before but could you please look at adding an Album Artist option to the Local Network and Library sections? I know I can add a "with albums in my" filter but it's pain having to do it every time I launch JPlay.

And one very small point - would it be possible to make the alphabet list on the side of the albums and artists pages a bit wider? It's not too bad on a phone or tablet, but it's difficult if you're running it on a Mac as it keeps disappearing as you try to use it,

Thanks

Alan

Hi Alan,

I'll see what can be done.

Marcin,

Is there any chance you can incorporate the ability to show more that one cover art when playing an album. In my aurender streamer, I am able to see both front and back cover art. Any chance you could incorporate something similar in Jplay?

+1. I would be happy to see such a feature. In many cases, I put several images into my audio files, sometimes more than two (e.g. up to 6 maybe). Good old foobar2000 can show them, as does Neutron Music Player on Android and iOS; and good old mp3tag handles them while tagging. Thus, that would be a nice thing to have, if possible. The question is whether the audio data server handles multiple images; I am using MinimServer for that.

I believe minimserver handles back cover art. Perhaps Stefano can confirm.

This was discussed a couple of years ago, it seems that UPNP doesn’t handle more than one artwork for each album.

But using JPlay and Minimserver a workaround can be possible storing all other album images into a pdf file like it was a booklet.

If you add in Minimserver tagFormat property

Quote

Comment.displayFormat={$*infoFileURI^booklet$comment}

then JPlay will recognize the file named booklet.pdf (stored in the album folder) as a booklet and will show it in the album details

Thanks. That said, mine doesn't show the bit rate like you pointed out. Mine is just "HI-RES". Interesting.

Oh...I'm running Tidal, if that matters.

Quite strange … with Minimserver the bit rate is almost everywhere, the previous screenshot was from Now Playing but it is shown in album details too and in filter (Focus) section

Thank you @stefano_mbp. Mine doesn't show bit rate anywhere. Hmmm? Anything I should check in the app.

I'll have to play with it more tomorrow, after I fire up the system. Time to go to bed...1:25 AM here. Haha
