nicholasg
Have a new iPhone 15 and just synced up my Music library from my Mac. A lot of the albums have been split into 2 albums. It seems random, but it is always one album with track 1 and another album with track 2 - n. I checked the tracks on the Mac and all the meta data is identical for all 5 tracks (except for the Title) and obviously it is 1 album. Any ideas? Thanks, Nicholas Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Can you post a link to the album? I want to test something and figure it out. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
OK, think I found it. An 8 disc collection - https://music.apple.com/us/album/alban-berg-collection/1452716908 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hmm. I see this as a totally different album and track sequence, so it's tough to test what's going on for you. Rondo is track 1 for you, whereas it's track 14 on disc 4 for me. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
nicholasg
When I rip CDs I tend to tag the files so the work (symphony, opera etc.) is an album, ignoring the sequence on the CDs. This seems to have happened to maybe half of my around 4000 albums, but only on my iPhone, everything looks good on my Mac. I'm thinking of waiting until iOS 7.2 comes out and reloading the library. Ah, this is a ripped CD. Sorry if I missed that part :~) I will see if I can reproduce this with some of my local content. I think I've seen this previously. botrytis
I had similar issues ripping in Windows 11. It has to do with the meta data, not being right. Current: Daphile on an AMD A10-9500 with 16 GB RAM DAC - TEAC UD-501 DAC Pre-amp - Rotel RC-1590 Amplification - Benchmark AHB2 amplifier Speakers - Revel M126Be with 2 REL 7/ti subwoofers Cables - Tara Labs RSC Reference and Blue Jean Cable Balanced Interconnects Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Just now, botrytis said: I had similar issues ripping in Windows 11. It has to do with the meta data, not being right. I keep thinking the metadata is different somewhere on his tracks, but I he said: 23 hours ago, nicholasg said: I checked the tracks on the Mac and all the meta data is identical for all 5 tracks (except for the Title) and obviously it is 1 album. Perhaps the metadata on the iOS app is not the same because of iCloud, if he's importing from te cloud rather than local computer to tethered iPhone. Well, I know EAC uses a specific public meta data database and sometimes it does not have all the different versions of an album, like deluxe, etc. Not sure it that is the issue, just saying I have had this happen when ripping CD's. nicholasg
The music is synced from Mac to iPhone via USB-C cable. This is happening to thousands of albums and it is always first track is one album, all the other tracks are another album. The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment
