Difference in encoding .wav from SACD ISO or from DSF (From same ISO)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am new here, and this is my first post. I did brose the forum from time to time, and I mostly do not understand what everyone is talking about hahaha.

Anyway, I have an issue for which I think someone from here might be able to give me some solution.

I am starting to create a collection of digital music files and have started ripping musics from SACD ISOs. I use SACDExtractGUI mostly, I also have Xrecode3.

Today, I extracted DSF files from a SACD using SACDExtractGUI, and decided to also create WAV files from it. I used dbpoweramp to convert the DSF files to WAV (24-bit / 96KHz). Then I remember that Xrecode3 also has options to encode from ISO straightaway, so I also encoded the album using Xrecode3 (same .wav setting).

When I tried to compare them using Musicscope, I see that they have differences. The graphs and charts are not same.

I then decided to extract DSF using Xrecode3, and then I encoded from the DSF to .wav, and I also encoded .wav straight from the ISO.

Again, differences in both files. I've attached bothe files, one from DSF, one from ISO.

Please advise. I am beginner in this, and would like this clarified so please help.

Many thanks in advance.
