Perfect Songs

Recommended Posts

I was a freshman in college when this original came out.  It was a gift from the future, showing me what my (future) grown up relationships would be. After 40 years, it is looking back at what my relationships were.  A song that is perfect at 17 and 37 and 57 is really something

"Don't look back, don't you ever look back..."

ATT Fiber -> EdgeRouter X SFP -> Taiko Audio Extreme -> Vinnie Rossi L2i-SE w/ Level 2 DAC -> Voxativ 9.87 speakers w/ 4D drivers

I remember having seen the original at one of the video channels back then, very sepia iirc,

It never touched me like that cover version.

Saw this video first time today.

A nice version exists as well from Bat for Lashes (2020)

Another gift from the future from Mr Henley....27 walking through the grocery store, stopped stone cold in my tracks by this song on the "Hell Freezes Over" video playing, and crying a very ugly cry.  I hadn't experienced this sort of loss (yet), but hearing this song just that one time (it is on DVD only, not on the CD), it was there when I needed it

A perfect version of a perfect song

"42 years to write, and about 4 minutes to sing..."

Another proud dad here, guys.
My youngest son just got his diploma -  today  - for Sport Science from the University of Montpellier, he will continue to get his physiotherapist degree in Germany. So happy that he now has not only the good looks - but also a science degree ... ;-)
BTW, here is a song I regard as perfect ...

Congratulations, DuckToller, and best of luck to your son!

I wish I had gone to school in France!  My daughter just spent a semester studying in Spain (Madrid), and loved it.

Mille merci @clipper,

La France came for me only after 40, my education took place in Germany and Northumbria (almost Scotland).

Very happy for your daughter to have that experience, Barcelona could be a very special place. Many classmates of Tim will pursue their Master degree in Barcelona next year. As a native bilingual French/German speaker he went in the opposite direction (geographically).

Thanks @DuckToller, and best of luck to your son next year!  Barcelona is awesome.  I really love every place in Europe I've had the great fortune to visit.

Love it, absolutely.

For me and my best friend this song is the epitome for roaming free to southern Europe. Music on and heading southbound, from Frankfurt to France, aiming for Spain or Portugal on the he long run.
