What concert surprised you the most?

I thought I would open a discussion on the above topic. 

I will start - don't worry.

My wife and I were lucky to get tickets to the last tour of Return to Forever. That was when we were living in Cleveland. Dzeezil Zappa and his band was playing his father's music. What an amazing show. So much fun so much virtuosity on that stage. RtF was good also 🤣

We saw Peter Gabriel, last year. That was a bucket concert for sure. It was such an inspiring show.

We were also lucky to see Thomas Dolby at the Berklee Performance Arts Center. It was one of his first concerts back on tour. It was also the show that was recorded for his DVD. It is pretty cool to have an autographed copy of that DVD also. It was amazing to see.

What do others say? 

easy… March 1977 at Wembley Empire Pool.

All 12,000 of us were beyond surprised when a huge, inflatable pink pig suddenly appeared from behind us above our heads and “crashed” into the stage in front of us. It was the pig’s first public appearance.

2009 ACL Musicfest

Them Crooked Vultures had just started touring and this was their 2nd or 3rd show.  We walked up to the stage...a band with John Paul Jones, Josh Homme, and Dave Grohl and seemed no one heard of them...1 hour of hard driving "reinvention of the Blues" - J. Homme;  by the end of the hour the stage was packed.

All in all, 2009 was the best year ever for Rock 'n Roll.  Look who they have this year.... skipping for the first time since 2009.
