I am thinking of buying the Sony HAP-S1 unit with 4 Sony SS-CS5 speakers, since the HAP-S1 unit only has one output for a pair of speakers, what amplifier should I consider from Sony?

If you want to go for same Manufacturer for matching, go for a recent Sony. I have the Tower version of these speakers and I am pairing them with a Sony STR-DH790 which is a Solid State receiver. Works well.

It also depends on your room size and listening position.

If you want to try something different and you're not in a large room, I recommend you try a Single-Ended Triode Tube Amp, especially if you listen to high-res audio like DSD128 or DSD256.
