Foobar can use UPNP protocol to use a upnp endpoint, but in this case the music must be available on Mac. To make the Digione work as a upnp endpoint you can install Ropieee, but in this configuration RoPieee will not be able to detect/use the usb connected hdd as RoPieee is just a endpoint, not a full player

The Digione signature player comes preloaded with Moode Audio, guess I should have mentioned that. So in MacBook Foobar settings > output > Device - is there any way I could see Moode audio as an option, or is that now how uPnP works. Sorry!

Hi,

I am creating my own cable to supply the USBridge Signature with 5V power.

Can you let me know out of the possible connections for 5VBUS and GND which ones operate in the USBridge to make sure I connect the cable correctly.

Thanks,

Rich

Hey anyone understand USB volume negotiation?

I have 2 near identical DACs - Douk u4, one is an early example with a Phillips DAC chip, and the other is a later version with a BirrBrown Chip. I use an ALLO USBridge signature to play as an endpoint using Ropiee from a macbook playing audirvana. The douk uses a PCM2704 chip for the USB duties (but not the DAC).

On my old unit it plays consistently at full volume, on the new Bur Brown units it suddenly negotiates to a really quiet volume and can't seem to be reset back. This is only using the Allo bridge and Ropiee as if I send USB direct to the new Burr Brown Douk then normal volume returns, but only when played direct from the MBook.

Any ideas it's driving me crazy!!!

Thanks,

Rich

I use a USB Signature, and had a problem with volume control on a Douk u4 Dac, in order to fix this a friend of mine loaded Moode and was able to open up a SSH and use alsamixer to return the volume control to 100% as it had dropped to 50%. When returning to normal play on Ropiee the change remained.

Now when we played the moode software as an end point (I play off a Audirvana on a MacBook 4 switches away) we could have just continued to use moode, AND have the ease of returning the volume if it ever tripped back to 50% in the future. BUT it kind of clearly did not sound as good, so we switched back to Ropiee.
