Ha!  IKEA cutting boards are one of the best audio hacks out there.

I've been using the LÄMPLIG bamboo cutting board (Article no: 203.098.28) under my sub woofer for a while now.

Hi @Nikhil, @AudioDoctor ,

I've often seen these boards used, and I've tried and discarded them myself (specifically after using them under a pair of bookshelves when I decided to take a look inside). Bamboo is a great material, but I'm not sure if the purpose of using these bamboo boards is also to reduce vibrations. Theory predicts, and experiments confirm, that mechanical properties deteriorate in the presence of voids. Perhaps you should compare IKEA's Aptitlig with a solid bamboo board, just to be sure?

That's eye opening. Thanks for this.

Bamboo isn't a good material for cutting boards anyway. May as well get them out of your kitchen and use them for your audio system.

Interesting. I know of at least one speaker manufacturer who make their speaker boxes out of bamboo.

and they're nice speakers as well.
