Always.Learning
I am selling a Sean Jacobs ARC6 DC4 power supply that is ready to power a Chord DAVE (three rails). I am also selling a Sean Jacobs capacitor board ready to install in a Chord DAVE. The power supply is 120v for North American power systems. The power supply includes the Mundorf silver/gold wire upgrade. The DAVE/ARC6 combination is the Mt. Everest of DAVE sound quality. On the used market, you might find a handful of listings worldwide for an ARC6 made for DAVE in a given year. Sean Jacobs never discounts these and they usually take several months to build. Note that the price of a Sean Jacobs DC4 ARC6 has increased substantially this year. The base price is $9200. Add $2400 for the three ARC6 rails for the DAVE. Then add (at least) another $1000 for the Mundorf silver/gold wire upgrade. The capacitor board retails for $500. Total retail value of the power supply and capacitor board is thus (at least) $13,100. My asking price for both components is $7750. Installation of the power supply and capacitor board in a Chord DAVE is straightforward and there are written guides with photographs to help you. If I can do it, I guarantee almost anyone else can do it. I can also supply a few basic tools to make installation fast and easy. If you only want either the ARC6 power supply or the capacitor board (and not both), I will consider all offers. Note that the capacitor board will only work if you already have a DC4 or DC3 power supply for a Chord DAVE. Personally, I would not go without the capacitor board if you are buying the ARC6 power supply. It adds a certain lushness and beauty to the super-transparent ARC6/DAVE sound without softening transients or loosening time domain performance. My understanding is that a DC4 ARC6 can also be modified to power other components. If you are interested in this option, I suggest you contact me for further information. Before I acquired the ARC6, I owned a Sean Jacobs DC3 power supply and used it to power my DAVE. The DC3 took a great DAC to greater heights, but the move from the DC3 to the ARC6 DC4 was much more profound, specifically in the areas of 1) physicality, density, and dimensionality; 2) bass; 3) dynamics; 4) resolution; and 5) space. The ARC6 is absolutely the best upgrade you can make to DAVE. I can refer you to my 100% positive feedback on usaudiomart. Condition: I am conservatively rating the ARC6 and capacitor board as 8 due to age. Everything has worked flawlessly since day 1. The umbilical cord that you will attach to DAVE is about 25 inches long, so you will want to make sure the two units are in close proximity. Purchase History: The ARC6 was previously owned but basically just long enough to burn it in. If I had to guess, I would say it was built in the latter part of 2021; I bought it in the summer of 2022. I purchased the capacitor board new in December 2022. Shipping and Payment: I would consider shipping to Canada if the buyer takes full responsibility for shipping. Otherwise, shipping is restricted to the United States. Buyer to pay shipping/insurance. For PayPal payments, please factor in an additional 3% for fees unless going through Friends & Family. Dimensions/Weight of the gear itself: ARC6 is 17.75 wide x 12 deep x 6 high (44 lbs). The umbilical is 25 inches long. Reason for selling: I am purchasing a Taiko Olympus music server with built-in DAC. This is many multiples the price of the ARC6/DAVE combination that I own today. I am selling my DAVE separately as well as some high-end cables I used with DAVE. Questions: I'll do my best to answer any questions in a timely manner. Link to comment
