Magnificat
New here, with the user name of my favourite album. However, not new to multi channel music, playing more than 10 years, Atmos for the last 3 years. As much as I admire, and drool over, Chris Connaker's ultimate immersive setup, it is not something that I can afford. Mine is an AVR driven 5.3.4 setup with mainly used gear costing less than USD10K. Just wondering how many other users here have relatively modest setups? Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
The gear is just a tool, to bring us closer to our favorite music. There are people here with systems all along the continuum. As long as there’s music coming out of the speakers, it’s all good 🙂 Thanks for joining the community. Magnificat 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
JoeWhip
I have a small HT room. 10 x14 and use a 5.1.2 system, Anthem 8k 540 AVR feeding the front 3 speakers and height to a 5 channel Anthem amp with the centerpiece a 83” Sony A90j master series OLED. Enjoying the 4 k disc of Andor right now that has a great Atmos track. Sorry Chris, I know🤢 Magnificat 1 Link to comment

We have systems all over the spectrum, but are united in the love of music ☺️ And to be honest, my headphones and Mac speakers sees more use than my main rig. All of it makes me happy!!! 😉 The Computer Audiophile and Magnificat 1 1 Promise Pegasus2 R6 12TB -> Thunderbolt2 -> MacBook Pro M1 Pro -> Motu 8D -> AES/EBU -> Main: Genelec 5 x 8260A + 2 x 8250 + 2 x 8330 + 7271A sub Boat: Genelec 8010 + 5040 sub Hifiman Sundara, Sennheiser PXC 550 II, Smyth Realiser A16 Blog: “Confessions of a DigiPhile” Link to comment

How about my setup? Although it has high percentage of the immersive music don't use LFE channel but I still prepare 10" woofer x2 for that. The DSP chain is suitable for watching streaming video. 😊 192kbps, Magnificat, bobfa and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment

I started with and continue to enjoy the AirPods Pro 2 with my iPhone. Or just listening to the iPhone turned sideways on a stand in front of me. More Music More Fun! Just wondering how many other users here have relatively modest setups? My set-up is of the 5.1.4 persuasion which was developed through accretion over time - LOL! Lots of different amps and speakers! I play Dolby Atmos music losslessly on blu-rays through my blu-ray player, and lossy through my Apple TV 4K device. The extent of the Dolby Atmos catalog on Apple Music is nothing short of astounding to me, with new selections every week (even in my niche category of classical music!). I'm a very happy camper, but the only thing I can't do right now is play Dolby Atmos files/downloads through my Mac Mini. I'll be starting a new thread on this topic soon (mainly to ask for advice on how to get this capability while keeping it simple!). Magnificat and The Computer Audiophile 2 Link to comment
