Confused
6 minutes ago, Vhond said: Unfortunately I can't borrow/try one. It would be nice to do because I don't know if it will bring some improvement. I was hoping someone has experience with the gear I mentioned. Also wandering what the difference is between the Mutec and for instance a Singxer reclocker?? I own and love my Mutec MC3+USB, but I do use mine with the Mutec REF10 external clock. It strikes me that the MC3+USB is quite an old design now. (I bought mine in 2016, and I think it was originally released in 2014) It would not surprise me if a replacement came to the market some time in the next year or so, it seems to me that it is due an update. I think it is fair to say that newer products from rival manufacturers are now available, and some of these appear to have a higher performance, at least from a pure measurement perspective. There is some interesting reading and measurements regarding re-clockers / DCCs on the GoldenSound website.: https://goldensound.audio/?s=ddc Windows 11 PC, Roon, HQPlayer, Focus Fidelity convolutions, iFi Zen Stream, Paul Hynes SR4, Mutec REF10, Mutec MC3+USB, Devialet 1000Pro, KEF Blade. Plus Pro-Ject Signature 12 TT for playing my 'legacy' vinyl collection. Desktop system; RME ADI-2 DAC fs, Meze Empyrean headphones. Link to comment
Vhond
@Confused: Thx, I saw the Goldensoundreview. He is more enthousiastic about the Singxer than the Mutec and indeed the Mutec MC3+ design could have an update by now (like the MC3+ USB is an upgrade above the standard MC3+, using a better clock). WAM
For what it's worth, I use a MC3 with a Auralic Aries, it was definitely an improvement. I use MC3 in our speaker setup, and in my head-fi setup (in my head-fi setup is also a REF10 nano). Improvements was significant (aas always: my gear, my ears, YMMV). Link to comment
Vhond
So you're using the NON-USB version with the first Aries (NON-femto version)? Thx for your reaction. Link to comment
WAM
No, the usb-version (mc3+ usb). I started with Aries G1 (now using G2). Link to comment
