It’s not what he’s asking for …

Thanks Stefano, Im not at home at the moment so could not access Lumin app, but yes, that is exactly what im asking for. What also is rather excellent is the ability to click on any of the items in the pop up, and instantly search for that/navigate to that, for example selecting Glen Gould would search for Glen Gould, or as in the screenshot Selecting the Qobuz symbol would search Qobuz, If you also have Tidal, a Tidal symbol would appear, and you can then easily search either Streaming service for any of the items listed in the Pop Up, much faster than, the multi-clicks I must use now when click-hold returns a window with items and you have to close this window. Both ways of browsing/searching would be excellent.

Yes, right know in order to sincronize items that you mark/remove as favorites outside JPLAY app, you need to go to "Settings" > "Qobuz" and select "Sync Data".

This happens because, we need to download all you favorites to the device, in order to you to access them faster and use the multiple filters, search and sort options that app provides.

Ahh - That was not obvious to me at all. I just sat experimenting with both iPad and iPhone 13, and they were out of synch..

Please please move or provide the Synch Data more to the front of the app, for example, when on Qobuz Favourites in JPlay, Swipe-Down-From-Top causes the Synch process to start, a method often seen to update the screen and its list contents on iOS, that way I will intuitively know that I’m up to date very quickly. I have not noticed this as  I have only been using JPlay to alter favourites since I started using the app, and very rarely have the Qobuz or Tidal apps open.

However having just downloaded version 1.07 I noticed that : when I am on the My Activity, any action I perform after having scrolled down the screen, for example - Scrolling down to the Albums Section, when I then press the Most Played, or Recently Played, I am brought to  the correct Tap, but every time I am brought to the top of the screen - this makes no sense at all, Please remember Screen-Scroll-Offset when switching between items, so that I see the switch between for example the two tabs : Recently Played/ Most Played.

Otherwise, excellent app!

"Sync Favorites"

Yes, "Sync Data" in somehow hidden. We look into it and improve it.

"My Activity"

Yes, in the latest version, fixing a bug in this screen, we introduce this "scroll to top when clicking a tab" issue. In the next version it will be fixed.

Thank you for the feedback ;)

Excellent!

thanks for a very speedy response

and you are most welcome.

The very best regards

Do you have any plans to offer support for more streaming services?

I would love to see support for Apple Music as it has some music not available elsewhere.

I have Tidal and Qobuz, both no longer have for example Macy Gray : Stripped, an excellent album! And it is available on Apple Music which I also subscribe to, to be able to listen to those albums.

I could enable Airplay on my moOde 7.6 installation, but last time I tried that, it ended up with Jplay not being able to play to moode after having finished Airplay.

I have just updated to moOde 8.2.5, but I am having the same incompatibility with Jplay, I need to restart the moOde instance after Airplaying to be able to get Jplay to successfully stream to it again.

Jplay skips the songs, and I can see the “handshake” on my Metrum DAC is blinking like mad, trying to get a proper “handshake”. Knowing this, I dont Airplay anymore.

It was not a problem before I switched to Jplay when I used BubbleUPNP Server. I could Airplay or play via any steaming app to moOde, switching between them no problem. To be able to have Apple Music in the Jplay app would therefore be nice, and maybe solve the problem I hope.

Keep up the excellent work!

New JPLAY app with Live Radio & Lifetime License Option now available!

I'm pleased to announce a new version of the JPLAY app with several improvements, including the highly anticipated Live Radio feature!  You can now enjoy your favorite internet radio stations directly through the JPLAY app. Go to My Library -> Live Radio and add your favorite streams by tapping +

You can now also purchase a lifetime license for $199 (€199 in EU). Current subscribers can upgrade to lifetime for a discounted price of $149 (€149 in EU). To upgrade your plan, go to Settings screen and tap Buy Lifetime in About section.

Best regards,

Marcin

Hi Marcin,

I have just purchased a Lifetime License, Im a current subscriber and have been since you released JPlay. Im extremely happy with the app. Now on iPad OS 18, with the new version, it seems to work beautifully, however I can’t play any radio stations.. Error sending action to renderer - also just trying to send to iPad.

I do not think I got any discount as a current subscriber, as in Denmark where I live I just paid 1299Dkr approximately 179 Euro. Furthermore, do I now need to cancel my subscription, or will you automatically take care of that?

Best regards

Hi Marcin,

With the new version  1.0.20 on iPad OS 18,  the app has changed behaviour:

1. When I try to expand the Album Description, to read more about the album, something I do all the time, it now does no longer expand, but pops up a window instead, rather annoying I must confess.

Please bring back the old behaviour, and if it could be a Setting to always have the Album Description Expanded or Not, would be marvellous

2. Is this new 2-colum view intended or is it a bug? I can’t get it to show consistently.

Keep up the great work, all the best from Denmark

Hi Marcin,

I am using an iPad Pro (11-inch) (4th generation), with iPadOS 18.0 (22A3354). I am using it with Apple Magic Keyboard on the iPad. I only play from Qobuz or Tidal.

I can reproduce it easily and consistently:

  1. Locate for example Madonna in Qobuz
  2. Start Playing Ray of Light
  3. Now Playing displays as normal with one column
  4. Go elsewhere, ie Safari, browse a while
  5. Return to JPlay, now the display is 2 Column
  6. I can amend it by rotating iPad to Portrait, and back to Horizontal mode, now displays correct 1 column
  7. Go to Safari again - now we are back to 5.

I have just checked without the keyboard, and the above behaviour is identical.

I just thought I would check in Portrait Mode, I never use the iPad this way, but just to investigate- here the bug also exists, lets call it Slim-Column-Bug instead of 2-Column-Bug, please see the images.

Behaviour is identical for Qobuz or Tidal, I do not have any local files to try, but expect it would be same behaviour.

Hope this helps

All the best, Easterman

Hi Marcin,

I also tested the new Saved For Later area, here the 1-Column (Portrait Mode) and 2-Column Bug (Landscape Mode) also exist, please see screenshots.

Again I can reproduce easily, by going out of JPlay to any other app or desktop and then back again. I’m still  using an iPad Pro (11-inch) (4th generation), with iPadOS 18.0 (22A3354).

All the best, Easterman

Hi Marcin,

Now that you are bug hunting, there is another little one.

When you are anywhere and click on the Album Cover Thumbnail in the Playing Now bar at the bottom, you are brought to the Album View.

Click again on the Album Cover Thumbnail in the Playing Now Bar, and yet another Album View opens on top of the one already open - I can add these Album Views as many times as I want, However - I now will have to click on the Back Arrow in the Upper Left of the Screen the same number of times as I clicked on the Album Thumbnail.

It seems you do not check if an AlbumView already exists, but open a new one on top regardless.

It also works this way on my iPhone 13 with iOS 17, multiple Album Views are stacked on top.

The best regards
